Sometimes you just need something sweet. However, the issue with desserts and snacks is that they are loaded with sugar. Refined sugar is a very acidic substance, and when your body become over acidic it tends to be very toxic and overwhelm the digestive organs. As the largest organ in the the body,skin tends to get the brunt of this toxicity, often resulting in blemishes and even acne, as the toxins try and escape your body. Not only that, many people are often intolerant of gluten, and dairy, finding them hard to digest, as they clog you up with toxins and mucus.

Chia & Cinnamon Pots

Why it's good: This simple healthy dessert is a delicious little pot of goodness that can be eaten anytime of the day when you need a little sweet hit, it’s even nourishing enough for breakfast. Chia seeds are packed with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and fiber, and they are also hydrophilic which means they hold onto water, help detoxify the body and keeping you feeling fuller for longer and keeps your skin moisturised.


  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 1 3/4 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup to taste

How to do it: Whisk together the almond milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and sweetener of choice together until blended well and the desired level of sweetness is reached. Pour over the chia seeds and mix well. Pop it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or overnight and tuck in.

Raw Chocolate Coconut Bites

Why it's good: Coconuts are packed with key nutrients like potassium, magnesium, calcium, and iron promote skin elasticity through essential fatty acids, hydrate your skin, and are totally delicious.


  • 1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut flakes
  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • ½ cup oats
  • ½ cup raw cacao powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How to do it: Mix all the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl, whizz in a blender if you want them smoother, then scoop out small mounds with a spoon and onto a plate or pan. Place in the freezer for at least 3-4 hours before serving. The scoff away! Like a Bounty Bar, but healthy, YUM...

Raw Raspberry and Almond Cookies

Why it's good: Almonds are packed with protein, which is essential for skin to repair itself and raspberries are full of anti-inflammatory properties which help to stave off those wrinkles


  • 1 cup of almond flour
  • 1/4 of a cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 of a cup raw coconut oil, melted
  • 1/4 cup fresh raspberries

How to do it: Mix the cashew flour with the maple syrup and the melted cacao butter. Then add the fruits at the end so they don’t get too squashed. Then line a tray with grease proof paper and spoon dollops of mixture into desired cookie size and shape with a spoon (or hands if you want to get messy. Place the tray in the freezer to set for 30 minutes, then remove and eat immediately.
