11 Ways To Seriously Soothe Eczema
Posted by Heather Nixon in Skin Care
Eczema is a skin care condition which causes certain areas of the body to become dry, sore, itchy, inflamed and cracked. As a rule Eczema is generally more common in children and can sometimes develop as a short - term condition before a child's 1st birthday, but for myself Eczema is something I've suffered with all my life.
Throughout the last few years it has become a real struggle to cope with, especially as I have it on my hands and face which are areas that are not so easy to conceal. As it's important to also treat Eczema medically I've tried quite a few prescription products to help ease my skin over the years. The most effective and gentle prescription cream is definitely Protopic, I can not recommend it enough, I would also recommend trying Hydrocortisone too which is a steroid cream that is good for light and infrequent use.
As I'm also a great believer in natural and gentle skin care products I am always looking for a more natural way to treat my Eczema without having to rely so much on prescription products. After taking the My Beauty Matches quiz I have found some fantastic product suggestions which have really helped to soothe and soften my skin.
Antipodes are without a doubt one of my holy grail brands, I started using their products a couple of years ago and have loved them ever since! The Antipodes Worship Serum and the amazing Hosanna Intensive Serum, £29.99 are just two of my favourites from the range which have helped a lot with my Eczema.
Quite recently I’ve been quite keen to trial a lighter Spring focused skin care routine and have found the Antipodes Manuka Honey range is just perfect for this. The Manuka Honey Day Cream, £39.99 Aura Manuka Honey Face Mask, £24.99 and Eye Cream, £35.99 are great for lightly refreshing my skin with an added dose of moisturising benefits, which is exactly what my sensitive Eczema prone skin needs during the warmer Spring months.
Another fantastic brand from half way around the world are Sukin. Sukin I love their Sensitive Calming Night Cream, £21.95, Hydrating Mist Toner, £8.10 and the Super Greens Nutrient Rich Facial Moisturiser, £9.99 which are all worth checking out, especially if you have dry and sensitive prone skin.
Caudalie certainly know what they are doing when it comes to skin care, and whilst there are so many incredible French skincare brands out there that are perfect for sensitive skin types such as Bioderma, Avene and La Roche Posay to name a few, Caudalie have always been one of my favourites. The top product that I always recommend from Caudalie is their Beauty Elixir, £12 which is a heavenly scented facial spray that can be used as a cooling spray, makeup refresher or as a toner.
