4 New Halloween Makeup Releases you Need to Buy
Posted by Jasmine Taylor-Moran in Makeup
Dig out your Halloween makeup ideas and skeleton decorations, and put on your fancy dress, because All Hallow's Eve is practically round the corner!
In a few short weeks, children will be knocking from door to door asking for sweets (let’s face it, nobody ever picks 'trick'), then arrive home at the end of the night with garden buckets and pillowcases full to the brim with delicious goodies. As an adult, unless you have a child, know a child or have really young family members, you can’t really get away with Trick or Treating anymore, therefore don't have much to look forward to other than, if you’re lucky, a party.
If we do have plans, us women have the excitement of getting to play with Halloween makeup. Not the boring everyday makeup we slap on every day, but the fun, colourful palettes you bought that one time you were feeling adventurous. This Halloween, we get to dig out our brightest colours, our ghoulish blacks and our slightly over the top fake eyelashes to create the scariest look possible. Or, as most of us end up doing when all else fails; the sexy animal Halloween makeup and costume. “I’m a mouse, duh”.
We've all got those go-to brands for our vampish lipsticks and darker than dark eyeshadows, that no other brand can compete with in terms of quality and price, and we can’t just settle for those face paint lipsticks you can grab at the discount shop in town. Lipsticks are a particular favourite this year with the berry lip trend continuing this autumn/winter. You can easily achieve the perfect Halloween makeup look with products such as Lipstick Queen's Bete Noir Lipstick in Possessed, a deep blackberry shade to complete your Black Swan Halloween makeup look or this Barry M Lip Paint in Black for a more Gothic Wednesday Addams vibe.
Some brands have taken it one step further with the ghoulish theme and created products inspired by all things spooky and sweet, using skeletons, spiderwebs and even candy corn.
Of course, the brand I’m talking about is Bitter Lace Beauty, who recently launched 4 incredible highlighters inspired by October 31st. We have such fond memories of their rainbow highlighter that took Instagram by storm. Much the same, these highlighters will be everywhere this October as the most stunning collection yet; the Halloween inspired highlighters we're all coveting.
Showcased to the world through their Instagram page, Bitter Lace Beauty not only gave us a glimpse into Highlighter Heaven but also swatched them for us, as an added teaser. They are Gorgeous! The four ‘Killuminators’ come in shades 'Hocus Pocus', 'Toothache', 'SLAY' and finally, with a nod to the popular US TV show American Horror Story, their fourth shade 'The Next Supreme'.
If you can't wait for them to come into stock, but you're after that multicoloured luminescent glow, try combining the 4 shades from the Sleek Solstice Highlighter Palette which has pink, gold, purple and citrus shades for you to recreate the inspired Halloween Makeup look. Or for a simple yet bold highlight, try Makeup Revolution Golden Lights for a yellow gold and silver shimmer to make your cheekbones pop.
Top Tip: Team bright highlighter with killer lips and brows on point and you've bagged yourself a super sexy Halloween look, or use darker shades to go ghoulish.
