9 Beauty Essentials You NEED On Your Christmas List

With only weeks left until Christmas day it’s time to get our thinking caps on about what we would really like on our wish lists or shall I say what we could really do with!
The cold weather has now settled upon us which means we really need to start indulging our skin into those richer products to protect against dehydration and maintaining a good moisture balance.
Here are my top 8 recommendations which are sure to put a big smile on you or a loved one’s face, and keep you feeling your ultimate best throughout the new year.
Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream really does live up to it’s name and with a price of £70 it is on the more luxurious end but believe me it’s worth it. It helps to stimulate collagen and replump the skin filling out fine lines and wrinkles. It also contains Vitamin E and Rosehip oil which really hydrates and helps bring your complexion back to life when your skin is looking a little dull and tired. I like to use after a long flight when your skin can be extra dehydrated or simply on days when I want to look look my best.
The concept of masques have been around for years but in recent months they’re starting to become a lot more popular again with some great new products on the market. Kiehl’s Turmeric And Cranberry Seed Masque, £29 is definitely one of them and I have been loving the results from it recently. The invigorating formula contains cranberry seeds which gently exfoliate helping to brighten and smooth out the skin, leaving you feeling like you’ve almost had an instant facial. I especially like to use it before an all important occasion when I really want to provide my skin with an instant glow. Taking the time to apply a mask once or twice a week can really help with the appearance and texture of your skin along with breakout prevention.
I just love the feel to this indulgent Souffle Body Cream from Laura Mercier, £45 it’s super thick and rich but absorbs beautifully into the skin without feeling greasy or sticky. My body feels so smooth for hours when I apply it and the dreamy scent of the Almond and Coconut range is my favourite.
I'm sure we are all guilty of neglecting our hands in the winter and have experienced that horrifying moment when we realise our skin looks like it’s about to crack! Liz Earle's Orange Flower Hand Repair, £12.50 will keep your hands soft, smooth and looking more youthful just from applying once everyday. Perfect to keep in your everyday handbag for those days when you are on the go.
I do love a good eye cream and Origins Ginzing Eye Cream, £20.50 is particularly brilliant for depuffing and brightening the skin under your eyes. I religiously apply every night before I sleep, but I especially like to use about 5 min before I apply my concealer as it acts as a great base and helps to stop it from creasing throughout the day.
Lip gloss is becoming more popular again after the craze of matte textures last year. Jouer's High Pigment Lip Gloss in Sunset, £17 is super pigmented and looks gorgeous on without the necessity of liner. Jouer's high pigment lip gloss range also comes in various different shades and will be perfect for that NYE party.
I have to say that Phillip Kingsley are by far my favourite brand for hair products. The Moisture Extreme Shampoo, £8 and Conditioner, £10 is essential not just in Winter months, but also when you are on holiday in high heat temperatures. Keeping your hair moisturised is important for your everyday styling, maintenance and shine. If you also suffer from dry scalp sometimes like me, this can really help with keeping your scalp a little more hydrated and less flakey.
Illuminating products can really compliment your face in Winter to really enhance your complexion and give u a subtle glow. NARS' Illuminator, £23 can be mixed with your foundation or tinted moisturiser to give you a slightly more dewy finish or you can wear it alone on your make up free days to give a vibrant look to your skin. A must in all seasons but particularly flattering in the dull winter months for that boost we will no doubt need when the natural colour in our face starts to disappear from the lack of sun.
