Why You Should Treat Your Bronzer Like An Investment.

Last month, the sun started peeking out of the usual blanket of clouds that is English springtime. So I did some spring cleaning. Of my make up bag of course, not my actual house (it would be winter again by the time I finished).

I did this because after last week’s Perricone MD no makeup makeup trial and discovered their dreamy No Bronzer Bronzer £29.00 I realised I look half dead without it, and had been wandering around for the last few months looking like a ghost. Or a mine artist. Or like I was made of milk (you get the picture) Which is fine if you are naturally pale skinned, in fact it’s totally gorgeous. Sadly I am normally an olive hue that when winter hits turns somewhere between yellow and green.

So to sum up my makeup findings after dusting down my makeup bag it is simply that bronzer is not just for summer, it's one of the best beauty tips for glowing skin . Why on earth do you not want to look healthy and glow-y all year round? I’m not saying that we all need to be tanned the colour of a Mulberry Bayswater all year round, just that by choosing carefully you can pick products that enhance what you’ve got and make you look like you’ve spent a week outdoors, when you have really made a duvet nest on the sofa and haven't left it in days.

Now that you are keen to bronze, read on for the secrets of choosing the right sun kissed glow for you. One of the best beauty tips for glowing skin is to aim for a sunkissed look and not like you have done 10 rounds with a gravy browner.

1.For a subtle bronze effect look for a bronzer that resembles your pressed powder, rather than a shimmery one

Lancôme Belle De Teint Luminous Bronzer 04 Belle De Miel £35.00
Is a weightless, velvety textured powder that can be sheer for the faintest wash of colour or layered for a beach babe bronze. The shimmer free powder is perfect for day wear.

2. Use bronzers 1-2 shades darker than your complexion

It’s not an exact science, but generally speaking this will give you a tanned flush but not scream FAKE. Guerlain have made it easy to follow with their specially formulated bronzers for blondes, Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder- 02 Blondes £35.50 and brunettes Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder Sun Brunettes £35.50 and even for those who are on the paler end of the spectrum, you can still glow with their version for light blondes Guerlain Terracotta Joli Teint Natural Healthy Glow Powder Duo 00 Light Blondes £35.50

3. Darker skins can work a glow

For those dark skinned beauties you can rock a shimmer, as using a too dark powder can look ashy. Enhance what you’ve got with a hint of gold. Rms Buriti Bronzer £23.50 gorgeous pots of gold can be swept on with the fingertips for easy, breezy sun kissed style.

4. Vegans Can bronze too

Don’t get left out in the cold (get it?) just because you’re vegan. Often beauty products can be confusing if you don’t know what ingredients to look for. Inika Mineral Bronzer Sunloving £20.50 solves that dilemma straight away and its straight up Vegan friendly and makes you look gorgeousely sun kissed to boot!
