How To Get Rid Of Puffy Eyes Immediately
Posted by Stephanie Orr in Skin Care
In a world where our eyes are constantly under strain from the use of computer screens, smartphones and hectic lifestyles, the appearance of puffy under eyes and dark circles has become an element of second nature that can affect us on a day to day basis.
What causes our eyes to become puffy?
The appearance of puffy, swollen eyes is quite often associated with exhaustion, water retention and toxins in the skin which can surface easily due to the under eye area being so weak. This can be controlled by introducing a series of lifestyle changes such as an increased water intake to boost hydration in the skin, along with a controlled diet and at least 8 hours sleep per night.
What can be done to reduce the appearance of puffy eyes?
Disguising the appearance of puffy, dehydrated eyes is achievable with the right at home methods. If your eyes are suffering from late night induced puffiness, start by applying thin layers of cucumber to your upper and lower eyelids for an instant moisture boost, to perk up your undereye hydration levels whilst also delivering a source of antioxidants.
Cold caffeinated tea bags which have been placed in the fridge overnight are also another way to combat the appearance of tired puffy eyes. I usually find that green tea or black tea bags work especially well.
For eyes which are regularly suffering from a severe amount of puffiness introducing a daily eye care routine is essential. Try applying an eye serum or eye cream before bedtime, along with an eye mask once a week, keeping these items in the fridge will also help to reduce puffiness.
Should I wear an under eye concealer?
Wearing an under eye concealer which is of a slightly lighter shade than your skin tone will also help to disguise the appearance of puffy eyes and dark circles. Try applying a matte textured concealer which will help to conceal tired eyes without a caking or creasing appearance.
